Why Lumen exists, in the founder's own words. Then the six people building it, and the company behind them.
My father has spent twenty-eight years in intensive care. The weight of a service never stayed at the hospital; it followed him home. His doctors call him about every bed, long after the shift ends. Every handover lived in his head, every escalation was a phone call, every quiet worry a corridor conversation that might or might not happen in time.
Lumen began at his dinner table: the escalations, the handoffs, the nights. I built it so a hospital's communication stops depending on the memory of the people who run it.
The answer is one clinician, one clone. Every nurse and every physician gets one persistent agent that owns their hospital communication and talks directly to every other clinician's clone. The person speaks; the clone asks, answers, schedules, chases, briefs and hands over in the background. It runs entirely inside the hospital, on hardware the hospital owns, and the model never decides alone: every clinical decision rises to a human signature.
He is the standard this company answers to, and today he advises it, by design without any contract, so his clinical duties stay untouched. The people below are the team that formed around that standard.

Advisory Chief Medical OfficerAn intensive care consultant, and the founder's father. He advises on ICU reality, escalation and alarm burden by design without any contract, so his clinical duties stay untouched. The funded clinical safety hire is what turns his counsel into an operational function.

Head of Finance and ComplianceMaster's in applied finance (UQAM); financial operations at a Desjardins head office, mortgage files at 100 percent compliance, securities transfers, zero-error transaction processing; audit at KPMG Tunisia. The compliance reflex a hospital vendor needs, in-house from day one.
Maher Bouars
Head of Clinical PerceptionOwns everything the system senses at the bed and everything it says back: on-device speech, the redaction that happens before any audio leaves the room, the clinical image pipeline, and the Arabic clinical voice. Finishing his machine learning degree at the Technical University of Munich this year; his thesis taught a machine to stage pressure ulcers from wound photographs, an image class hospitals document at the bed; research assistant at the TUM computer vision and machine learning lab. Native Arabic and French, for the Arabic clinical voice the deployment needs.
Youssef Belkhouja
Head of Clinical Evidence and ValidationTwo years inside the French medical-school access track at Universite Grenoble-Alpes, biochemistry, anatomy, public health and medical ethics, now completing a physics and chemistry licence; schooled in Jeddah in the French international system from 2019 to 2024; French Red Cross certified in citizen first aid and mental-health first aid. He owns every claim this company makes and the proof under it: the evidence library, the traceability of each figure to a named source, the trilingual clinical content, and the design of the validation that turns intent into measured outcomes. He is early in his career and we say so; the seniority above him is the Advisory Chief Medical Officer and the funded clinical safety hire, by design.
Nobody on this roster has scaled a hospital vendor before. That is exactly why the clinical safety, regulatory and quality function is the first funded hire, and why the Advisory Chief Medical Officer exists from day zero.
